History

    The first reports about the metallic silhouette shooting are in the mid fifties from Mexico from where this sport was spreading to the USA. In the year 1975 the 1st National Championship was organized in Arizona, and in the year to follow the International Association of Metallic Silhouette Shooting from short guns (IHMSA) was founded.  The official rules of this shooting sport date back also from this year.

    The first competition on the European continent were in France in 1982. In the year 1989 the European Association of Metallic Silhouette Shooting (AETSM) was founded, and in the year 1992 the International Metallic Silhouette Shooting Union (IMSSU) was founded the co-founder of which is our Czech Association (CzMSSA).
